Troubleshooting printing from Firefox or Safari

If you click the Print button for documents in SimplePractice a new tab will open with a formatted pdf ready to print.

Depending on your printer, your browser and your operating system, it will look something like this:

If you're not able to print from this screen, or if you click the print button and you only get a blank page, you're experiencing an issue with your Adobe Acrobat PDF viewer plug-in. Safari and Firefox are especially prone to this issue.

If you're experiencing this issue, you’ll see a blank PDF preview in your print dialogue box like this:

To resolve this issue

  1. The easiest way to resolve the issue is to click the cancel button on the print dialogue box.
  2. Hover over the PDF that's loaded in your tab and click the Print button that appears. It will look something like this depending on your browser and version of Adobe:Hitting the print button on the pdf guide should fix the blank pdf issue
  3. You'll now be able to print from the print dialogue box that appears with a populated PDF preview.
