Setting up mobile app passcodes

For security reasons, SimplePractice highly suggests that you enable a Passcode on your mobile device. We also offer an option to create passcode, touch, and face recognition settings inside of your SimplePractice app so that you’re prompted to enter this passcode each time you access the app. To use the face or touch recognition option (if available based on your device) you will first need to set a passcode inside of the SimplePractice mobile app settings. Here’s how:

  • Open the SimplePractice mobile app
  • Navigate to Settings
  • Enable the passcode(s) that work best for you

Important: We do not store passcode, face ID, or touch ID credentials inside the app for security reasons. Logging out of the SimplePractice app will reset previous passcode, face, and touch recognition app settings. Storing user login and password information on the device would negatively affect the security of the app. For this reason, your passcode, face ID, and touch ID settings reset when the app is re-installed or deleted. We cannot store these credentials inside the app because our primary focus is to ensure the security of your data.
