What should I do if I receive an Adaptor Error?

An Adapter Error occurs when a SimplePractice customer attempts to publish information to our servers and that action fails. This can occur when saving a template, adding a payment, saving a Progress Note, or any other action where a piece of information can't be saved.

This error can happen for a few reasons. To remedy this, try the following:

  • Clear your cache and then try saving the information again. You can find instructions on clearing your cache here: Clearing your browser cache.
  • If clearing your browser cache doesn't solve this, the error may be due to an unstable internet connection. You will want to try turning your WiFi off and then back on again.
  • If the first two options above do not help, you should then reset your modem by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
    • Please note that this will disconnect anyone else who is on the network at that time.
