"Backend responded with an error" message when I try to e-mail a client the invoice

When I try to e-mail a client their invoice, I received a message "The Backend Responded with an Error" message.  Please advise what I need to do here.

  I just had the same issue when trying to email statements to clients. I second the request. Please advise!
