FAMILY members
Dear Simple Practice,
It is anything but simple to create a Family Account.

It is absolutely wild that private practitioners on a $29 Starter plan can't see families without creating individual accounts for all members of the family. This is a basic service that MOST therapists offer, so it should be included in a basic plan package. I should not need upgrade and pay $99 for a Plus plan that has a ton of features I don't use in order to have this ONE, basic feature. I have seen many posts in the Community expressing this concern.
SIMPLE PRACTICE: PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CONSUMERS AND FIX THIS.

Usually, our counselors will do a couple's account with the parents and then add the rest of the family as contacts. We share documents with them to still sign, but we bill under a couple's account with the 90847 code. When there are instances of family counseling for siblings or a singular parent and child, it gets so tricky!! We usually do one account, and then we will add the family member as a contact if over 18. If the counseling is with a parent and a minor, then we do counseling under the minor and have the parent as a contact until a counselor believes that the parent needs to be the primary client down the road. If the counseling is with a parent and child over 18, then we have the account under whoever requested the counseling. We usually only have family counseling in person.
See? So confusing to figure out and even try to describe!!
A family account option would be so nice and clean! We could still mark whoever the one asking for counseling as the primary client and hold the DX, but being able to have more than 2 names attached to an account would be so nice! Or even if 2 are family members, it would still be nice to have a "family" option instead of "couple".

Isn't it amazing that this company--which has expanded to include some incredibly sophisticated features and technology can't include what surely must be a very simple addition to include a family option? The original request was made 7 months ago, and not only have they not done it--they've completely ignored the thread.
You have to wonder if they even read these queries...

I feel the same way, Adam! I am wondering if we could create a joint petition or something? This post has gone completely ignored by Simple Practice, and I wonder how we can get their attention?
In the meantime, I've created separate profiles for family members, and I see them on Google Meet. I only write notes on the profile of the primary client (i.e. the person who initiated therapy) because I've found it too time-consuming to copy-paste notes to each person's separate profile. What are other folks doing?
