AUDIT - Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Tool

This is the 10-question AUDIT tool, which is helpful for working with EAP clients referred to you because of alcohol problems.  The goal of this tool is to identify the level of alcohol abuse, develop talking points for psychotherapy, and generate evidence to support a treatment modality referral.  Most EAPs expect some sort of assessment to be completed on a referral that has identified alcohol as a problem.  Some EAPs provide their own assessment tool (e.g. Military OneSource).  The AUDIT is offered as a tool for those referrals that come from an EAP that leaves it up to the clinician to decide on the assessment.  This tool is in the public domain.

You may notice that the title in the assessment is "Alcohol Use Review."  This appears a bit less ominous and probing than "Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Tool" and all of the questions are the same.  This tool can be disseminated to the client electronically and confidentially through the client portal.  The client can complete it in less than 5 minutes.

  Like how this gathers more details on the type of problem rather than the standard ones I have seen .  Glad you typed it out and I look forward to adding this too my intake packet to send out through SP when it gets added to their database.
