Denied claims with no explaination
Answered

I am getting denials for claims. Some these denials have no explanation. This is causing issues with having to call insurance companies.

Hi Markita, have you had a chance to reach out to our Insurance Specialist team directly to help with this?

Denied status indicates that the payer processed the claim, but denied payment. This could be due to the way the claim was coded or because it is not a reimbursable claim based on your contract with the insurance company or the client's plan.

You can check the reason the payer shared with us for denying the claim by looking at the payment report. Place your mouse cursor over the "?" in the payment report to see the reasons (shown below).

For denied claims you'll need to contact the payer directly by calling Provider Services since they don't provide us with additional information about the denial. You'll find the Payer Control Number in the Yellow Denial Banner message or if you click on Payment Overview while viewing the denied claim. Click here for more info about how to find the Payer Control Number.
