EFT Enrollment?
AnsweredI'm currently receiving checks (from BCBS and soon Cigna as well) and I'm totally confused as to how to switch over to EFT/direct deposit payments. Please point me in the right direction for where/how to get started, thanks!

For EFT on Cigna, click here. For BCBS, in which state are you located?

For BCBS Maryland, the plan is managed by CareFirst. Click here for EFT instructions. You likely will be setting up a clearinghouse account with Availity or Change Healthcare, but you can also set something up with Office Ally.

Hi Karen - Happy to clarify this for you! SimplePractice doesn't process insurance payments for customers. Customers can, however, enroll in Payment Reports, or ERAs.
Enrolling in Payment Reports will not redirect automated insurance payouts to your SimplePractice account via direct deposit, or electronic payments. Rather, enrolling in Payment Reports will automate your insurance bookkeeping in SimplePractice. As soon as an insurance payer has posted payments corresponding to claims you filed, a Payment Report will be electronically delivered to SimplePractice. Your clients' Billing pages and their claims' statuses will reflect these payments. You'll still receive funds in the way you initially arranged when you got credentialed. For more information, click here: When I submit claims via SimplePractice, how will I receive reimbursement from the payer?. I also suggest checking out our Help Center's detailed explanation of Payment reports (ERAs).
If you're interested in enrolling for Payment Reports and automating your insurance billing, here's a great guide on how to get started: How do I submit an enrollment to file claims or receive payment reports?

Hi Alisa, SimplePractice doesn't actually process insurance payments, you'll want to contact the insurance payer directly to find out how to enroll in EFTs. If you'd like to automate your insurance bookkeeping, however, you can do so by enrolling in Payment Reports through SimplePractice. This way, your SimplePractice account will auto-populate with the insurance payment information for sessions billed through SimplePractice. To do this, go to Settings > Insurance > Enrollments and click the +Enroll button under the Payment Report column for this insurance payer. If there isn't a +Enroll button under Payment Reports for this payer, then you can submit a Help Request email to see if a connection can be made between our clearinghouse and this payer.

I understand that Simple Practice doesn't actually help with EFT, but when I go to enroll for EFT with BCBS of IL I have to indicate whether or not I want ERA files to be delivered to a clearinghouse and if so, which one. I am already enrolled to receive the payment reports for BCBS of IL with SP so what do I indicate here? And if I am to indicate "yes" to a clearinghouse, which one? Thank you!

Hi Patricia, our clearinghouse is Eligible! Here's more about our clearinghouse: What clearinghouse does SimplePractice use?

Hi Kristina, SimplePractice doesn't process insurance payments for customers, EFTs (Electronic Funds Transfers), or otherwise. We do, however, allow customers to enroll in Payment Reports (ERAs). I'm happy to explain how Payment Reports function in SimplePractice below:
Enrolling in Payment Reports will not redirect automated insurance payouts to your SimplePractice account via direct deposit, or electronic payments. Rather, enrolling in Payment Reports will automate your insurance bookkeeping in SimplePractice without any transfer of funds occurring through SimplePractice. As soon as an insurance payer has posted payments corresponding to claims you filed, they generate a report.
You'll still receive payment in the way you initially arranged when you got credentialed. For more information on how you'd receive payments from insurance companies outside of SimplePractice, read our policy here: When I submit claims via SimplePractice, how will I receive reimbursement from the payer?. I also suggest checking out our Help Center's detailed explanation of Payment reports (ERAs). If you're interested in enrolling for Payment Reports and automating your insurance billing, here's a great guide on how to get started: How do I submit an enrollment to file claims or receive payment reports?
Good news is, it looks like you've submitted an ERA (Payment Report) enrollment for Magellan on 2/26/21, and your BCBS TX Payment Report enrollment was already accepted! You'll be notified if your Magellan enrollment gets accepted, rejected, or needs additional documentation for processing! -
GOOD AFTERNOON
MY NAME IS JORGE DIONISIO
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET ERA/EFT ENROLLMENT WITH CAREFIRST OF MARYLAND SB590 AT NO AVAIL.
I HAVE GONE THROUGH AVALITY FOR THE SECOND TIME AND BOTH APPLICATIONS WERE REJECTED. HERE IS THE REASON FOR THEIR REJECTION
REJECTED COMPLETEDuring the enrollment process we noticed this Tax ID and NPI combination is already active in CareFirst under this banking information. If a change is needed please submit a new request. If the bank information is correct please contact Carefirst directly to determine why EFT's are not coming in.02/09/2023 1:22:12 PM - Availity/PayerI HAVE FOLLOWED UP WITH THE CAREFIRST LIASON FOR Montgomery County AND SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO HELP. IN FACT, THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION FROM AVALITY AT ALL. I HAVE BEEN WITH CAREFIRST FOR YEARS NOW AND I AM STILL STRUGGLING WITH THIS.IF YOU ARE GOING TO ASK ME TO TALK TO AVALITY ABOUT IT, I ALREADY DID AND THEY DIRECTED TO THE CAREFIRST. WHEN I SPOKE WITH CAREFIRST, THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT AVALITY. I FILLED OUT THE CAPARIO PROVIDER ENROLLMENT FORM FROM SIMPLE PRACTICE WEB SITE AND EMAILED IT TO SUPPORT@OFFICEALLY.COM. I ALSO FAXED THE FORM TO AVALITY AS INSTRUCTED. I WAS WONDERING IF THE REJECTION FROM AVALITY HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT I HAVE BEEN SUBMITTING MY CLAIMS THROUGH SIMPLE PRACTICE. BUT IF THIS IS THE CASE, SHOULD I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING EFT FROM CAREFIRST? INSTEAD I HAVE ALWAYS RECEIVED CHECKS VIA USPS. NOW, I AM TRYING TO TRACE THE CHECKS THEY HAVE BEEN SENDING, DESPITE CHANGING MY ADDRESS INFORMATION WITH CAREFIRST. THIS IS MY LAST LIFE LINE.THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP
