Add Aetna Better Health of Kansas
AnsweredAs of 1/1/2019 Aetna has been added as an MCO for Kansas Medicaid. The payer ID is 128KS. When will this be added so that claims can be submitted to this insurance company? My practice has multiple claims that need filed.

Hi Stephanie,
We don't currently have a connection with Aetna Better Health of Kansas. I've opened a ticket with our clearinghouse to request that they try and establish a connection for claims filing and electronic payment reports. It's not always a guarantee that they create one or provide an ETA, due to this being dependent on the payer's requirements. Please know that our clearinghouse will work to try and have this established. I will follow up with you in a separate email if they are able to create the connection.
In the meantime, I'd recommend submitting the claims outside of SimplePractice and manually adding payments when received. This will help keep track of which claims have paid and which claims are still in process. I also wanted to include our guides for reference:
Creating and printing a CMS 1500 (HCFA) claim form
Adding an insurance payment
If there's additional questions that I can help with, please let me know. Have a wonderful afternoon.

I, too, am in Kansas and need this. Aetna is now one of the main Medicaid providers here in Kansas.
I may be doing something wrong, but when I try to create a CMS 1500 it won't create because I don't have the insurance company. But the insurance company Aetna Better Health Kansas isn't an option...
