    Hi Sabrina,

I can definitely clarify that for you. We recently changed our Referred By field to a structured referral tracking system. This allows you to track which referral sources are generating the most revenue for your practice. You can learn more in our blog post: Growing Your Practice: Referral Sources Report.

Now, when you click on the blank field, a dropdown will appear. You can choose one of the pre-entered referral sources or create a new one by clicking +Create new source:

Then you can access your Referral Sources report to see which sources are generating the most revenue for your practice.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you.

Can we delete pre-entered referral sources and create our own list?

How can we edit referral's listed in the referral report? For example, I have staff who entered Family Friend and Family/Friend and the two are recorded as two different categories in the report. I would like to be able to condense the categories to get a more accurate referral report

I have the same question about editing. I have a list that I enter from, but occasionally need to edit it. To date I've just created new options that better meet my needs as I continue to learn how my newer practice works and what information I want to track, but I'd like the option to edit existing options rather than always creating new. I realize that caution is needed so that it doesn't dilute past data, but so far I can't even edit a spelling error without creating a new entry...

I have same question as I badly mispelled the referral, and dont see a way to edit or delete it.

I have some of the same questions too. Has anyone responded to this?

    Hi everyone,

You can manage your referrals by going to your Referral Sources Report on your Insights page and clicking Manage Sources in the upper-right. Here you can delete any misspelled referral sources.

To learn more, check out our Help Center guide: Insights: Analytics and reports for your private practice.

    Sincerely,

    Liz

It looks like we are only able to Remove a referral source - surely there should be a way to edit this instead of just removing?

Hi Sarah, at the moment, Referral Sources can be removed but cannot be edited. We're looking forward to releasing the ability to edit Referral Sources in a future update. However, you can always remove erroneous Referral Sources, then add them back into SimplePractice in the correct format.

It would be great if we could edit the referral source. I made a typo and it looks very unprofessional to have spelled the pediatrician's name wrong. If I remove and then add again, it alters the true data. Can this be adjusted, please? Thanks in advance!

Currently, there's no way to edit a referral source so it retroactively corrects all previously entered referrals. You can create a new Referral Source with the pediatrician's name correctly typed out. Moving forward you can use this new, correctly typed out, Referral Source. If you'd like us to allow you to edit a Referral Source, please add this idea to our Ideas and Suggestions Board: http://simplepractice.uservoice.com/ .
