Clinician Specific Pricing

I have 8 clinicians. Psychiatrist, 2 Psychologists, 4 Social Workers, and a Divorce Coach, How can I have Dr. Smith charge $150 for all her 90834 appts, and have Dr. Jones charge $180 for all her 90834 appt. And when Dr. Smith increases her rate from $150-$160 how can I automatically make that apply o all of Dr. Smith's patients.
Currently the system seems set up for Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones to charge the same amount for 90834. That can't be correct. I imagine most practices do not have universal pricing for CPT codes. Psychologist with 30 years experience changing the same as an LCPC that was licenced last month. Can't be.

So Yolanda’s solution still requires the practice/clinic/agency to put a specific price in for each and every patient. :(
Why can’t the solution be that the programmers allow a CPT code to be used more than once?
Why can’t we have 90834 with a description that includes “with Dr Smith” and another 90834 with a description that reads “. . . With Dr. Smith” etc etc and each has their own price?
That way if the provider raises their weight by five dollars it would act civilly automatically populate future appointments where is the other solution requires going into every single patient account and raising the price by five dollars.
Seems like an enormous avoidable administrative burden that the coders are putting on the customers of this product. I don’t get it?
We been using Schedulicity for years and in that system it’s very easy to make prices associated with specific codes for specific providers. I know we can be done. We been doing it for years that way.

Although I originally made separate codes for every provider using their initials or name after the CPT code in the CPT code box. But in the end it’s easier almost to have a generic code and put the price in at the time of booking. When patient use the portal they can’t see prices anyway so after they’ve requested the appointment you can put the pricing and once they had a price once it will populate that price for them for that patients future bookings.

This is one of many many many unfortunately examples where simple practice is a wonderful program for solo practitioners and still has a lot of work to do to work well for group practices.
Because what you will find on your super bill is that if multiple providers see a client all the codes appear to be on one provider listed on the super bill. So if my clients primary provider is a social worker therapist and that month they see our psychiatrist it appears that the social worker is doing med management with them which I’m just waiting for the day that Insurance bounces that back. Because SimplePractice is simply not set up to show specific provider names and provider NPI codes for specific treatment CPT codes in a single superbill.

Hello,
We also have different prices for our clinician in our practice. Here is what I have to do:
Go to edit details, and click on the billing and insurance tab.
Scroll to the bottom and add the default services and the correct pricing.
Once you do this it will pull the correct price and code from this screen, just make sure you do this before you set any recurring appointments.

Can you clarify? What do you mean go to “edit details?”I don’t see a tab that says “billing and insurance”. I see a tab that says “billing” under the words “calendar” and “clients” and if I go to settings I see a tab this is “BILLING and services”. Can you help me understand where you are in the program?

I need this feature too. I have 4 therapists in the office, and two are out of network, and the others are in network. My billing is much higher because of my education level, and I need an easy way to bill my rate, and not my other therapists rates. Right now, I have done what the poster did above, I have created CPT Codes with my initials after them to distinguish, and am assigned to them. I'm not sure how that will work when providing my clients with a super bill.

Hi Everyone - For the time being, I'd suggest adding a Default Service Code fee for each of your clients depending on the clinician they're seeing. You can do this by going to the client's file > Edit > Billing and Insurance and scrolling down to the Default Service Code section, like Yolanda suggested.
