Clinician Access levels
AnsweredOur practice needs more control over what levels of access clinicians can have. Is there a way to customize to fit individual group practice needs? The 4 choices are not sufficient and are a significant barrier to using SP for group practice

Hi there,
I'd be happy to provide some additional insight here. We currently offer only the four access levels for your clinicians, all which grant different access in SimplePractice.
We love feedback and ideas for ways to advance the platform. Can you be able to provide some additional insight as to what your practice's needs are with customizable access? This will help our team have a better understanding of our group practice's needs.
Best,

Ayelette,
The problem with granting other clinicians Administrator Access so they can view and edit document templates is that they will also see the whole practice financial reports and information that is not for their eyes. Being able to view and edit intake documents and forms is a very basic need for ALL clinicians to have in order to know what they're sending to clients. I've discussed this with other folks on the development side of SP and it really needs to happen soon! It's a very frustrating obstacle in our day to day work flow.

We are a private practice and struggling with this as well. We want the clinicians to be able to run reports and see specific payout information for their clients, such as insurance payments and what date of service that payment was for. Currently Simple Practice shows them everything with one access and the other access allows them to see nothing. It is very frustrating. If we allow them administrator access they can see what all of the clinicians are bringing in (amount of money they are making) or if we allow the full client list access they can't see the information they need to provide accurate amounts, so it really is all or nothing.

Agree with the above, although we are looking for a higher level of access. Would like to have access to everything aside from clinical notes - progress, treatment plans, ect. In our practice, my wife is the main counselor and we have two other counselors working for us, and if I could truly take care of all the administration stuff outside of the actual counseling, it would free up her time and allow for a smoother practice.
Tangentially, all the improvements in the app is great, but in our practice I would probably benefit as much as anyone from using the app, however since I am not a clinician, I can't access the app. It would be super helpful if you would open this up to the rest of us.

Hi everyone,
If you'd like a clinician to be able to view and edit document templates, you can grant them Clinician with Administrator Access.

Hi Scott, thanks for the input, we're actually collecting customer feedback and considering a feature enhancement that would offer more customizable team member roles. Please add your comments and upvote this feature request on our Ideas and Suggestions Board: https://simplepractice.uservoice.com/forums/918553-simplepractice-feedback/suggestions/36554002-allow-more-flexibility-for-permissions-on-clinicia .
