Group Thearpy
Answered

Hi,

I'm running a therapy group (not a group practice) with a co-facilitator. The co-facilitator and I share the fees from the group. One group member requires super bills for reimbursement, but I'm not sure how to demonstrate in Simple Practice that she has paid the full fee (for her superbill) but that I only collected half of it (for my revenue tracking).

Thanks!

    Hi Shelley,

I understand that you want to record that the client has paid the full session fee but only record that you've collected half of the fees. Before I jump into how to do this, I wanted to let you know that the information in Superbills auto-populates from invoices on the client's billing page.

In light of this, you'll want to first create an appointment with the full session fee and create an invoice for the full session fee. Then, you'll want to add the client's payment for the invoice. For more detailed information on how to create invoices, please refer to this Help Center guide: Creating invoices.

After you create the invoice, you'll want to follow these steps to create a superbill with the full session fee:

    1. Navigate to the client's Billing page and adjust the time frame to only include the session.
    2. Click +Create New > Superbill.

Now the Superbill will include the full fee for the client's session. You can download or email the Superbill to the client by clicking on the Mail Icon or Download Icon while looking at the Superbill. For more detailed information on how to create a Superbill, please refer to this Help Center guide: Creating superbills.

After you've downloaded the Superbill, you can delete the Superbill as well as the client's payment for the group therapy session. You can then navigate to your Calendar homepage, click on the appointment, and update the session fee to record the half which you collected. For more detailed information, please refer to this Help Center guide: Changing session fees.

If you have any additional questions regarding this, please reach out and let me know.

    Hi Jeremiah,

I attempted to follow these instructions, and I'm embarrassed to say I made some kind of error (series of errors?) and now I have like an "unbilled amount" for that Cl?

I think I know what I can do gong forward, but I need to fix what I've done now. Is there a phone number where someone can walk me through it? I clearly can't follow text instructions all that well.

    Thanks very much,

    Shelley
