Hi Rachel, I am an EMDR therapist but I just document in my note. If I have developed a target (Picture, Emotion Body Belief) in a session and process it later, I just go back to it, copy it, paste in the note and then process. When processing, I use >> to indicate BLS. I abbreviate my resource development as PP (peaceful place) N (nurturers) P (protectors) and W (wise one). I hope this is helpful.

I am working on creating templets for EMDR sessions. There are so many different things though so it is taking a while to do.  I am going to try the Calm place exercise tomorrow with the form I created on SP tomorrow in session. I hope it goes well.  Otherwise pen and paper it is.  It just seems redundant to do pen and paper and then re-document into SP.  I want to be all electronic and not have half electronic/half paper charts.

I'm signed up for EMDR training in a few weeks and would love to see any notes templates anyone develops!

There are 2 at least under the templates.

I was trying to figure out how to use the EMDR case conceptualization in simplepractice. I started to fill it out on paper and realized it's already in simplepractice.

I see that the emdr summery treatment note is also already in notes but I would like to know how to access it and add it to an existing client's note.  I'm not seeing anything listed in help.

Hi Angela - If you've already added the EMDR Progress Note Template from Settings > Notes & Forms > Template Library by clicking the +Add link to the right of it, then you'll be able to add it to any existing clients' Progress Notes. To do this, go to the client's Overview page, click the +Progress Note for any appointment without a note, then select this note template from the dropdown menu at the top.

Ruth - I am wondering. Is there a way to add an additonal note? So if I already put a DAP note, but also want to add an EMDR template note is that possible? I am only seeing that one type of note can be created per session.

Hi Meredith, you could add the EMDR as an Assessment, but it won't be attached to a particular session. To do this, go to your Settings > Notes & Forms, click the + icon next to the EMDR Progress Note Template to duplicate it. Then click on the duplicate template and change the Template Type from Progress Note to Assessment. Now go to your client's Overview page > +Create New > Assessment > select the EMDR Template. Let me know if you have any other questions!
