Group practice billing
AnsweredCan I add a clinician whose billing is unaffiliated with my own? If I add them to my practice, can they still use their own documents and NPI, or if I want that should they just create their own Simple Practice account?

Hi Vanessa,
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. SimplePractice is only set up for Single Business Entities, so you are right that your colleague should create their own SimplePractice account.
Group practice accounts are designed to consist of multiple clinicians working as employees and are who usually paid as contractors. Since a group account usually stores one organizational NPI and tax ID, features like insurance billing can get complicated if all clinicians are not filing under the same group NPI and tax ID. For this reason, it is best that the clinician sets up their own SimplePractice account. You can check out more information on what practices qualify for the Professional for Groups Plan in this guide: How do I know if a group practice is right for me?
We do, however, have a wonderful referral program at SimplePractice, so I highly recommend that you refer your colleague. Help us spread the word by inviting your colleagues and receive a $50 credit toward your subscription each time one of them signs up for a paid account. They'll get $50 too, just for being your friend.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Best Wishes,Whitney
