Family session
AnsweredHow do I schedule a "Family Session" on the calendar section of Simple Practice? There is only a "Couples" or "Individual" selection. Also, what CPT codes would I bill for this? Initial Intake and sessions following?

I would like to do a family session for an existing client. The family member is not a client, but is a contact. I have no reason to make the family member a client and would not bill for them, they are attending a session for my client. If I just send an email reminder to the family member can they join the session in addition to the client can they both join?
This is from the telehealth FAQ, but does not address 2 people joining but only one is a client. - Up to two clients can join the same Telehealth video call, which allows for group sessions of up to 3 people (1 clinician and 2 clients). Each client can join the video call through the email reminder link.

Hi Elizabeth, to answer your question, yes. Anyone with a link to the Telehealth session can join by clicking the link. Each Telehealth appointment generates a unique link, which can be shared manually with anyone. You can also enable email reminders for the Contact in order to get those links automatically sent to the Contact.
