Timing of credit card charging
AnsweredIs it possible for the client's card to be charged at time of scheduling?

Hi Shannon, while there isn't a way to automate this, you can require that clients enter their card information to request an appointment with you. This is an option setting under My Account > Settings > Client Portal. Then, you can charge the card upon accepting the client's appointment request. Let me know if you have any additional questions about this, or anything else SimplePractice. I'm here to help.

Is there a way to charge all of the cards on file for a given day? Or change the time they are charged (instead of the default midnight of the service day) It's our practice to charge all cards for all clients/clinicians at 8am. I would like to avoid going into each client's account and charging them one at a time.

I can't charge my client's card at the time of scheduling, due to Simple Practice requiring me to make an invoice first. The appointment isn't until next week and the system is not allowing me to submit and invoice and charge the card. How do I charge at the time of scheduling an appointment?

Hi there, happy to help. You actually can charge your client's card at any time. To charge a client's card, visit their Overview page, enter the amount you'd like to charge, and hit Add Payment. Then, the client will have a credit on their account that will be applied to their next invoice.
