Auto Inurance

    Hi Carolyn,

I understand that you're wondering about how to bill auto insurance for a client's sessions. We currently don't have a direct way to bill auto insurance from your SimplePractice account. That said, you may be able to download your client's CMS-1500 form and then fax the form directly to the auto insurance company.

You can download a client's claim form by navigating to the claim form and then clicking the Download button in the upper right corner. After you download the claim form onto your device, you can fax the form to the insurance payer for processing.

For detailed information on how to do this, please refer to this Help Center guide: Creating and printing a CMS 1500 (HCFA) claim form.

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

I've tried that but I can't create the CMS 1500 because I can't enter the auto insurance. Is there a way to override the insurance information and enter the insurance and claim information manually?

    Hi Carolyn,

You can manually add the Auto Insurance to your SimplePractice account by following these steps:

    1. Go to My Account > Settings > Insurance Payers.
    2. Click the Add Insurance Payer button in the upper right corner.
    3. Add in the Auto Insurance's name and click Save.

Now you can return to the Insurance Payers page (My Account > Settings > Insurance Payers) and search for the Auto Insurance. Under the "Address column," click +Address.

After you add the Auto Insurance to your SimplePractice account, then you can navigate to the client's profile and add the Auto Insurance as the client's insurance by following the steps in this Help Center guide:

After adding the Auto Insurance to your client's profile, then you can create and download the claim for the Auto Insurance through your SimplePractice account.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
