Billing in simple practice

Does anyone practice in Michigan and participate with bcbs and bcn? If so, do you bill through simple practice with group npi or individual npi?

    Hi Caterina! Whether you bill with your group vs. individual NPI will depend on what you're paneled with for BCBS. If you're not sure, you can check your contract or reach out to the payer to confirm the right NPI to use.

    Can I give up my medical billing company and the clearing house they use and just use Simple Practice? I would like to do everything through Simple Practice. Thank you, Lisa

    Hi Lisa, definitely. Some of our customers choose to add their billers to their SimplePractice accounts, whereas others choose to do all their own billing through SimplePractice. It's really up to you and what works best for your practice.

    Hi Lisa, I have not received any payments though I
    am registered with Payspan.  They ask us to give them the clearing house you use. Kindly provide us  with the clearing house  that yo use for billing.

    The name of our clearinghouse is Eligible. Find out more about our clearinghouse here: What clearinghouse does SimplePractice use? 

    To clarify, we don't process insurance payments, only Payment Reports, or electronic Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). You'll still receive payment in the way you've always received payments from an insurance payer. If you're set up to receive electronic payments through PaySpan, you'll continue to be paid through them. 

    For more information on how you'd receive payments from insurance companies outside of SimplePractice, read our policy here: When I submit claims via SimplePractice, how will I receive reimbursement from the payer?. If you're interested in enrolling for Payment Reports and automating your insurance billing, here's a great guide on how to get started: How to file an enrollment to submit claims and receive payment reports.
