Can the Availability calendar show currently scheduled sessions?

    Hi Kristin,

    I understand that you're wondering whether you're able to see your current appointments and the Availability time blocks simultaneously. In this case, yes, you can see both pieces of information on your Calendar homepage.

    If you navigate to your Calendar homepage, then you'll notice that the background will be grey and white, depending on whether you have an Availability blocks scheduled during these times. The white background means that you have an Availability block scheduled, while the greyed out background means that there isn't an Availability block in the Calendar.

    However, there's currently no way to schedule client appointments while on the Availability calendar or schedule Availability blocks while on the Calendar homepage. I can definitely see how this would be helpful, and I encourage you to add this feature suggestion to our Ideas and Suggestions board.

    I am reading this topic and would like to make a suggestion if I could.  If the greyed out background could be a little darker grey it might make it easier to differentiate.  On my screen the white and grey aren't that much difference in terms of coloring.  Just a thought. :)

    The grey availability DOES NOT show on the MONTH VIEW which is what I use.  I would definitely prefer to not click back and forth and have it be like...

    9:30am- Mr Smith

    10:30am- OPEN

    11:30- Mr. Green

    12:30- OPEN

    I would prefer my view to have a time slot option

    Laura, if you can be okay using the weekly view you will be able to see your appointments as well as availability.

    Using a weekly view does not work for me because I would then be going back and forth from weekly view to monthly view.  I only use the monthly view.  I just wish availability could show on the monthly view as appointment slots.  I was scheduling spaces as "open" instead of someone's name, but that made it so a client could not schedule that time slot and it got added to my personal calendar.  If I could create hourly appointment slots (sort of like the client view) in one color and the filled appointments in another color on a monthly view, that would be great!  AND then only have the appointments transfer to my personal calendar that would be great,  I ONLY LIKE TO USE MONTH VIEW AND I CANNOT SEE IF I HAVE AVAILABILITY AT A SPECIFIC TIME UNLESS I TOGGLE BACK AND FORTH OR I CREATE AN APPOINTMENT UNDER OTHER AND THE WRITE IN "OPEN".  BUT THEN CLIENTS CANNOT SCHEDULE AT THAT TIME BECAUSE MY "OPEN" SHOWS TO THEM AS UNAVAILABLE.

    For example:

    Appointments in office: Blue

    Appointments telehelath: Purple

    Breaks or calls to make: Red

    OPEN SLOTS for appointments: Green

    Why won’t it let me toggle to morning openings if it’s after 4:00 when I’m looking?

    Hi Mary Beth, it sounds like you might need to adjust your Calendar settings under My Account > Settings > Calendar. If I'm not understanding your question correctly, let me know, or reach out to the Success team directly via the ? bubble in your SimplePractice account.

    Please please please make the contrast between the available and non-available times darker!!! We have a hard time trying to see what is actually open and what is not open with our variable schedules, especially when there is stuff scheduled around an open spot. It's also hard to toggle between the availability button and the appointments, but that would be less of a big deal if the white and slightly off-white were white and grey, or even another color! This seems to be the biggest complaint our staff has. Otherwise we have been really happy with SimplePractice!
