SonderMind
Answered

Hello, I've partnered with SonderMind and have been getting a nice steady stream of client referrals from them.  Does anybody have tips about how to set up billing for this type of situation when I won't ever be collecting payment from the client? I want to make sure it doesn't throw off my analytics etc. and also reflects correct earnings when it comes time for taxes.  Thanks!

Hi Margaret, I'd be happy to help with your question. One thing you may consider doing is entering SonderMind as an Insurance Payer under My Account > Settings > Insurance Payers. Then, you can set the client copay to $0. That way, when you receive payment from this third party, you can enter the payments as Insurance Payments under Billing > Insurance > Payments.

I really need support learning how to reconcile SP payments and EOB's  w Payscan in terms of insurance payments/ adjustments and losses.  As well as tax prep.  Any suggestions?

Hi Lori, I'd be happy to help. One feature of SimplePractice is our integrated Payment Reports, which are electronic EOBs. Payment Reports automatically record insurance payments in your account and allocate them to sessions. This might be a great way to save time reconciling payments from EOBs you receive outside of SimplePractice. To get started with Payment Reports, you can click +Enroll under Payment Reports under My Account > Settings > Insurance Payers.
