DSM-5 DXs and specifiers
Answered

Hi. I am used to diagnosing with such codes as F10.20 Alcohol Use Disorder, Severe, but DXs are different here at simple practice. Its ok to use: F10.20 - Alcohol dependence, uncomplicated, which is the equivalent I found here, but it has no specifier??

Thanks for your help.

Hi Alexander, I'd be happy to help with this. SimplePractice uses ICD-10 codes for diagnoses to remain compliant with insurance payers, who require ICD-10 codes on insurance claims. You can find a full list of all the ICD-10 codes out there at icd10data.com. Additionally, your DSM-V includes a table in the reference section that translates DSM-V codes to ICD-10 codes. Let me know if you have any additional questions about this, or anything else SimplePractice. I'm here to help.
