Clinician Access to Create Notes & Forms
Answered

Hello, Hopefully, I am missing something simple!!  I have several employees who are requesting access to Admin in order to create their own Notes/Forms etc. Can this be done while protecting client's progress notes (they cannot read the notes other therapists generated) and the practice's billing (accessing other therapist's income? I have scrolled through many posts and did not see this question. Thank you!!!

Hi Victoria, I'd be happy to help with your question. Currently in SimplePractice, any clinician with Administrative Access or higher can create and edit Consent Forms and Note and Form Templates. However, clinicians with Administrative Access do have access to all client documentation in the account. Typically, group practice owners add Consent Forms and Note and Form Templates to SimplePractice on behalf of their clinicians with lower access levels.

Is there a way for those clinicians without Admin Access to print blank forms?

Hi Diane, because clinicians without Administrator Access do not have access to the Notes and Forms section where forms can be previewed, these clinicians cannot print blank forms.

Is there any way to allow a limited type of administrator access, so that clinicians can have access to notes and form templates without access to all other clinicians' clients and notes? I'm assisting with admin for my practice, and would really like to be able to assist in custom form creation/my own custom forms, without having to constantly go through my practice's owners, who are the only ones who have administrative access.  This seems like something that would hopefully be fairly simple to do.

Hi Samantha, currently the only role your Account Owner can give you that would grant you access to the Notes & Forms page is Clinician with Administrative Access. You're right in that this access level would also allow you to see all the client files in the Group Practice account. If you have specific ideas on how to expand the various roles granted to team members, please share them with our Product Team by commenting on this post in our Ideas and Suggestions Board: https://simplepractice.uservoice.com/forums/918553-simplepractice-feedback/suggestions/36554002-allow-more-flexibility-for-permissions-on-clinicia . We look forward to hearing what you have to say!
