Using a Tablet
AnsweredHi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to use a table and pen with the notes feature of SP so that you can take notes using a pen on the computer screen as if it were an old-fashioned clipboard and paper?

Could this be a feature you include in future SimplePractice versions? I would love to be able to write with a stylus directly into my simple practice note during a session, this would save so much time. Would be great if we didn't have to use a third-party app, and it was all directly in SimplePractice. Clients tend to report that typing during a session is impersonal, but tend to be comfortable with hand-writing brief notes.

I actually have a way to do this. I have an Ipad Air with Apple Pencil. I use the Mazec 3rd party app to write notes directly into the chart. If you are on the Facebook group for SP, type Mazec into the search. You will see some posts about it. That's where I learned about how to do this.

Hi Marshaun, we have many customers using a tablet and stylus to take notes in SimplePractice. You'll need a handwriting-to-text conversion app that is compliant with HIPAA and integrates with your tablet's keyboard- that way, you can write directly into text boxes in SimplePractice and your handwriting will be translated to text. We don't have any specific recommendations for third-party apps to use for this, but be sure to ensure the third-party app doesn't send data to the cloud, and that you de-identify your notes.
