Medi-Cal and Mental Health Network
Answered

I'm paneled with Medi-Cal in California and in my area they currently use a third party agency, the Holman Group to handle their claims.  The Holman Group states that they don't take electronic claims but SP seems to indicate that this is possible.  Have any other providers that work with the Holman Group been successful in electronically submitting their claims via SP?

Just got paneled with Managed Health Network and am also wondering if people have successfully processed claims via SP.

Thanks!

I have never billed Medi-Cal directly.  I only accept Medi-Cal through health plans that offer it: MHN, Molina Healthcare, Blue Shield Promise Plan, United Healthcare Community Plan (only available in San Diego County).  In San Diego County, Optum does the claim processing for Medi-Cal.  Claims are accepted only via mail and fax (yes, it is very rudimentary, but their turnaround is quite prompt).

I submit all my MHN claims through SP.  I receive all the remittance advice through SP as well.  MHN claims are handled very efficiently via SP.
