Family/minors billing
AnsweredI'm attempting to bill a client for sessions I had with the client's daughters. I sent the client the credit card information request, which she filled out and it's now associated with her account. But since her email is the email on-file for both daughters, I can't seem to add credit cards on to their accounts.
My work around has been to add duplicate sessions under the client's name every time a daughter has a session, and then bill that way, annotating in the invoice that it's for the daughter, but this is really cumbersome. It also messes up my metrics as it makes it look like I'm getting paid double what I am.
Suggestions or other work-arounds? Is there a way to manually copy the credit card information she has already submitted to the other accounts?

Hi Lauren, I'd be happy to help with this. One way you can add the card to the minor client's accounts would be to enter them manually. To do so, ask for the parent's card in session, then manually enter the card information under Client Overview > Edit Details > Billing and Insurance > +Card. Let me know if you have any additional questions about this, or anything else SimplePractice. I'm here to help.

Hi Tanya, currently, SimplePractice doesn't have a native feature to transfer a balance from one client to another. However, you can add a negative payment to one client's profile to zero their balance, then add a positive payment to the other client's profile to record the payment. Most of our customers choose to make the primary partner the designated partner for billing to streamline their workflows.
