Hi Erin, I'd be happy to help with this. While SimplePractice doesn't currently feature a built-in report with client information by insurance provider, a member of our incredible community created a YouTube video to show you how to do this using SimplePractice's existing exports. Here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uso3wLHG6gQ&t=17s

Let me know if you have any additional questions about this, or anything else SimplePractice. I'm here to help.

    Thank you Gillian,

I think that this was placed into insurance questions- because I could not find a proper Category. I like (and I have favorited the video that you shared).

What I want to know is, I have a scenario where it looks like I accidentally put a single credit card number in for two patients who are not related. I run a group practice, so at this point, I do not know which two clients may be sharing a credit card. I have a feeling that I know one of the two, but then at that point - I don't know who the secondary client is who has the first cleints card information on it.

I have been tolf that simple practice does not have a screen or report to show all clients, with the last 4 digits of cards on file attached to their name. This would be beneficial as a way to quickly see who might have a card on file for multiple client accounts.

I apologize - I hope that I am making sense, I dont know how to write out, technical requests.

Hi Erin, I understand what you're looking for- right now, SimplePractice doesn't have a report that includes client names and the last 4 digits of the card on file. However, I'd recommend taking a look at your Activity Log on the date that this card information may have been erroneously entered for unrelated clients to determine whose card information was updated when, and to track down the error.

Additionally, if you believe that this card may have been charged for an appointment, you can look in the Details section of the Card Transactions report under Billing to identify the last 4 digits of each card that has been run by SimplePractice's Online Payments platform during a given date range.

    Gillian,

The report in Youtube only provides aggregate information on each company's payment. It shows total dollars for each Insurance company but this data is not linked to the clients.

Is there a way to get a list which shows each client and their associated insurance(s) sorted by insurance. I can find no way to export these two pieces of information together. I frequently want to make changes to all clients for a given insurance company. For example: Illinicare is changing to Aetna Better Health. Having a listing showing all Illinicare clients would help me quickly make the changes I need to make. Currently it is a bit of a hunt and peck in order to accomplish this.

One way this could be accomplished is by adding an Insurance selector button on the appointment status report.

Hi Bob, chiming in here! You can go to Reports > Outstanding Balances Report, uncheck the box "With Balance," check the box to "Include Insurance," then widen the date range so all your clients will appear on the page. Now, select the CSV, or Excel button to the top right to download the report. From the downloaded report, you'll see all clients with their insurance payers listed, you can use the sort function in the spreadsheet to sort by the insurance payer column. Hope that helped!
