fam. and ind. session back to back billing
Answered

Hi. I billed Blue Cross of Idaho a 90847 fam. session and 90832 ind. back to back same day. I put the modifier 59 behind the 90832. I got a message z76. I tried communicating with them and was told they are "unbundled and exclusive." Did I bill this wrong?

Hi Petra, while the SimplePractice team is happy to help with questions related to SimplePractice, we're not always able to advise as to which codes are billable to what player in which circumstance. This rejection may be because the payer doesn't authorize the use of both CPT codes for the same date of service, but your best resource to get this resolved would be the payer.
