Client Portal: How do I send link to client
AnsweredI would like to know how to link a client to their portal in simple practice. Is there a way to get them access to their account at any time?.
Right now, I need to direct a client into their portal, to view and update information. Previously, I have used the "share" option to have them update information. But if I need the client to just make sure that they can login - how do I send them the access link ?.

Hi Erin, you can find your Client Portal link under My Account > Settings > Client Portal. You can share this link with clients in a quick Secure Message so clients can easily access the Portal. Some of our customers choose to add a link to their Portal in their email signatures and on their website so the Client Portal link is easy for clients to locate.

Hi Erin, happy to help. If you use email outside of SimplePractice you can simply add the Client Portal link under My Account > Settings > Client Portal to your email signature. Or, you can edit the Client Portal Emails under My Account > Settings > Client Portal > Emails to add your Client Portal link for easy access.

Gillian... I am a clinician set up by our practice mgr and am told I have "Full Client Access" in my team settings. I DO NOT see Client Portal under My Account, Settings. I only see Basic Info, Notifications and Calendar in the left margin of Settings.
Am I looking in the wrong place? Or do my settings need to be changed by the administrator?
Thank you!

Erika, happy to help. All you need to do is click the appointment on the Calendar, click "Copy Link," and text it to clients outside of SimplePractice. SimplePractice cannot currently send text messages automatically that include the Video URL.
Teri, all you need to do is adjust Sarah's access to Clinician with Administrator Access for her to access the Client Portal settings. -
Gillian... the reason I wanted all our therapists to have access to their client portal was so they could Save/Copy their client portal url.
I just realized there is can only be 1 Client Portal url - and I set it yesterday to MY OWN First-Last name. Oops. #FacePalm I thought each therapist sets/has their own client portal url.
Learning as I go... we're newer to SP.
Is there any way for me or SP to change my Client Portal url? Logically, it should have our Company Name in the url vs one of our therapist's name.
Any direction would would be awesome. Thx!

Hi everyone, thanks for your patience.
Teri, our team can reset your Client Portal URL for you. Just reach out to the team through the ? bubble in your SimplePractice account.Dorlene, you can send your client a quick Secure Message that directs them to the Portal to pay for their appointments.
Lynn, clients receive a link to the Portal any time they receive a new Portal document or Secure Message. The "Share Link" button on the Calendar appointment actually shares a link to their next scheduled Telehealth session, and not the Portal. You can send a Secure Message to the client to direct them to the Portal.
Carol, you can connect your clients as Contacts for each other, or add the parent(s) as Contacts for them, under Edit Details > Contacts on the clients' Overview page.
Kira, you can find and copy the link to your Portal under My Account > Settings > Client Portal. You can then add it to your practice website or to your profile on directories like Psychology Today.Marsha, the client can click "Request new Sign In link" to get a new link to access the Portal.
Sharon, you can find the link to the Portal under My Account > Settings > Client Portal. This link is the same for all of your clients.
Let me know if you have any additional questions about this, or anything else SimplePractice. I'm here to help. -
Hi Naomi, you can go to your client's file, navigate to the SHARED WITH CLIENT box to the right, then click the X icon next to the forms you'd like to resend. Now click the Share New link in the SHARED WITH CLIENT box to share the forms again! Here's a great guide on this process: https://support.simplepractice.com/hc/en-us/articles/207925943-Sending-intake-forms-and-documents-to-clients#whatifinee !

Is there a way to send a client a link to complete a form? I have my insurance form that clients complete and goes directly to my biller. How can I attach that link somehow where they can click on the weblink and can navigate to the form they need to fill out? I have tried adding the link in a consent form and intake form and the link shows up but you are unable to click on it to take you to the URL page. Any suggestions???

Hi Sheila, you can send your client a Secure Message by clicking on the messaging icon to the top right of their client file and typing in the website for this online form. The website will be hyperlinked in the Secure Message. Your clients will get an email notification with a login link that they can use to view the message and access your online insurance form. You can also choose to include insurance information in your Demographics Information Form and add your Biller as a Team Member for free, if you're on the Professional Plan. This way your client won't have to navigate to another website to fill out additional information. To include insurance on your Demographics Form, go to Settings > Client Portal > Shared Documents and Files, scroll down and check the box to "Include Insurance." Billers and Schedulers in SimplePractice can see clients' Insurance Information. To add your Biller as a team member, go to Settings > Team Members > Add Team Member. Hope that helps!
