video layout
AnsweredHow do I change the layout for video sessions with clients? I am used to using zoom and like the layout of just seeing client's face (with my face much smaller in corner). It seems with simple practice it is split screen with my face on one half of screen. I don't understand this- I do not need to see myself. I want to see the client full screen. Can you please advise.

Hi everyone, thanks for your patience in our getting back to you. When you're using SimplePractice's Telehealth platform, it's not currently possible to adjust the Telehealth window so that your browser isn't visible. In Google Chrome on a computer, you can right-click the image of yourself and click Picture In Picture to pop out your video preview image. Thank you for the suggestions that full screen mode for Telehealth with SimplePractice would be useful - we always welcome your ideas and suggestions on our Ideas board at simplepractice.uservoice.com

Hi Steve, happy to help. It sounds like you're using the SimplePractice Mobile App on your iPad to access SimplePractice. You actually will want to use the browser on your iPad to access the full web version of SimplePractice, and can simply delete the mobile app, which is optimized for use on a mobile phone and doesn't support landscape layout.

We really need the option to be able to record a session. Some certifications (Gottman, Emotionally Focused Therapy, I'm sure others) require recordings. Also, working with couples (and I'm sure some individual work), being able to record and play back a segment of a session can really facilitate the therapy process at times. Please, please.

Hi Catherine, for security reasons, we've chosen not to include a recording function in Telehealth. However, this is a feature we could consider in the future. Please let our Product Team know why this function is important to you by commenting on and upvoting this feature request: https://simplepractice.uservoice.com/forums/918553-simplepractice-feedback/suggestions/36553339-record-and-share-telehealth-sessions . In the meantime, I'd recommend finding a HIPAA compliant screen, or voice, recording software to use in tandem to our Telehealth feature, so you can securely record sessions.
