Batch ERA reports

  • John Amendt

Hi Lisa, I'm not sure if the issue is with the insurance companies or the clearinghouse, but many of us have been experiencing delays in getting payment reports posted to SimplePractice, even though the payments are going into our bank accounts. I've been with SimplePractice since 2016, and this is the first time that I have had this problem. I believe this is mainly related to all of the changes since shifting to telehealth. Since you are new to SimplePractice, there can also be delays related to enrolling in ERA. I think until I was officially accepted for ERA reports that I had to manually apply payments for the first 4-6 weeks. I'm thinking that might not be the case for you as you said that claim summaries were being sent electronically.

Hi Lisa and John - I think you maybe referring to two different things. I can clarify both here:

Lisa - The reason why your insurance payer indicated that your EOBs, or breakdown of what you were paid for, were sent electronically is because you enrolled in Payment Reports through SimplePractice. To access Payment Reports go to Billing > Insurance Payments, click on a payment, then click the Download EOB button to see the full payment allocation. Payments will also post to your client's Billing page and in connection to the claims you submitted. Here's our full guide on Payment Reports.

John - Since the start of the pandemic, we've noticed delivery delays for some Insurance Payers' EOBs. Our Insurance Specialists are working on this on a case by case basis. If you're not receiving Payment Reports for one, or more insurance payer you're enrolled with, please submit a Help Request so our Insurance Group can investigate this for you. To do so from your account, click on the "?" icon to the bottom right > Get Help > Ask Question > Email. You can also click here to submit a Help Request: SimplePractice Help Request Form.
