Hi Jessica, there aren't any good AR reports here. this is something SP seriously needs to work on.  You can attempt to see whats not paid, by posting an insurance check and it will show you unfortunately, both paid AND unpaid during a time span, but you cannot export or print it.  You can also run the unpaid insurance appointments report, but then that does not give you who the payer is.  I've had to sort this report by the patient, add and remove columns then go back and search to see who the payer is, and that isn't accurate either, for one visit could have been billed to a different payor! all in all doing AR follow up out of this system is very time consuming and frustrating!!

    Hi Jessica and Irish,

Good news! There is actually a way for you to generate an Accounts Receivable Report for Insurance balances in SimplePractice.

Navigate to Reports > Client Reports > Outstanding Balances. Uncheck With Balance and check Include Insurance.

Then you can download the report as a CSV or Excel file. Here is how the downloaded report appears:

There aren't any reports of value when it comes to A/R. My assistant relies heavily on A/R reports to properly do her job. She has yet to find an accurate report that provides the necessary information, such as, patient name, date of service, Insurance ID number and insurance. The "Outstanding Balance" report does not provide all of the information necessary to be efficient.

Hi Luke, at this time, there isn't a Report in our system with your clients' Medical Record Number. There also isn't a report that includes all of this information and the dates of service that your client hasn't paid, or their insurance hasn't paid. You can use the Appointment Status Report and click the Include Insurance box to see all your Unpaid Insurance Sessions. I'd recommend adding this feature request to our Ideas and Suggestions Board so our Product Team can consider it in a future, here: http://simplepractice.uservoice.com/ . You can also add your comments and vote on this post that's similar: https://simplepractice.uservoice.com/forums/918553-simplepractice-feedback/suggestions/36553861-insurance-reports

I am not needing a report with a medical record number. I need a report that will show the "Insurance Identification number", date of service, billed amount, and the insurance company along with the patient name. I would be nice to generate a report based on the field.

I was able to generate a report on unpaid appointments. However, there is no date of service to reference the claim.
