V Codes
Answered

Hi community! I am needing to add a diagnosis code to a client's diagnosis that is a non-billable v-code but which is significant in their treatment and presentation. SP diagnosis forms don't appear to allow that. I am wondering if anyone knows why there is no way to include v-codes in the diagnosis, and also wondering how others are going about including that information in their clients diagnosis and treatment plans?

Thanks!!

I'm using z-codes in the diagnosis field. I wonder if that is what you are looking for? Try searching Z60, Z62, Z63, etc. and see if these are what you are trying to find. :)

    Hi Rachel,

You're right, we don't have any non-billable ICD-10 diagnoses codes listed. The reason being, we'd like to avoid customers billing insurance payers with these diagnoses and getting denied, or rejected claims.

If you'd like to add a diagnosis code that isn't billable to your client's file, I'd suggest creating a custom Assessment in Settings > Notes and Forms with answer and question fields that prompt you to add these diagnoses for your client. Then you can add the Assessment to your client's Overview page by clicking +Create New > Assessment.

Here's a guide that'll help with using our template builder: Custom Notes and Forms.
