Billing for LMFTA

What are you finding other groups are doing as far is how they are billing for an LMFT-A? Are they billed directly under themselves, or under a supervisor? I am asking because we would like to know if LMFT-As can be eligible for billing if they are supervised by a fully licensed provider that is already contracted with that same insurance company.

  Hi Renee, coverage for services rendered by a pre-licensed provider can often depend on the specific payer and plan. I'd recommend reaching out to the insurance payers that the supervisor is paneled with to check.
