Appointment Reminders
Answered

Is anyone else having clients say that they are not receiving appointment reminders? I have had three clients tell me today that they did not receive an appointment reminder like they usually do. Two were text messages and one was e-mail. I wanted to see if this was a problem others were experiencing or an issue on the client's end.

Thank you!

Hi Tori - I'd recommend checking your Reports > Emails Sent Report and your Texts Sent Report to see if these reminder emails and texts got "Delivered." If they haven't, go to the client's file > Edit > Emails and see if the boxes for "Email Ok" and "Send email reminders" are checked off. Also navigate to the Phone section to make sure that "Text message ok" and "Send voice/ text reminder" are checked off. Lastly, select the radio button for "Text." Note, clients can receive either Text, or Voice Reminders, but not both.

If you'd like us to further investigate appointment reminders for specific clients, please submit a Help Request from your SimplePractice account. Click on the "?" icon to the bottom right > Get Help > Ask Question > Email. You can also click here to submit a Help Request: SimplePractice Help Request Form.

    Hi Ruth,

All of those things have been done. I think this may be an issue on the client's end.

    Thank you!

It's seems a bit useless to me to have a link option in the reminder text to cancel/confirm the appointment and then issue an error message that external links are not supported by text messages when I insert them into the text message template. Also, why not allow this feature to be used in email messages? Am I missing something here or is this really how this (doesn't) work?

    Hi Mark,

The link that's attached to our Confirm/ Cancel Reminder feature is integrated into our platform, which is why it's clickable in the reminders generated from our system. Although you can't add hyperlinked external websites to your text reminders, you can add a website as unformatted text. You can also use the "Links" macros in Settings > Client Reminders > Emails to add a Confirm/ Cancel link to your email reminders. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!
