Subscription Fee Increase

Hello.  My yearly subscription is about to renew and I saw that the price has jumped from $529 per year to now a monthly rate of $59 per month which brings the yearly cost to $708.  That is a HUGE percentage increase in what I'm paying and I am a bit soured by the significant cost increase... especially during a pandemic when so many people, including therapists, are struggling.  What is the reasoning and justification for such a hike in cost?  As a consumer, I'm certainly not getting any more from what I'm purchasing.  This leads me to want to look elsewhere and doesn't give me security that each year I won't be facing yet another increase.

    The cost increase is absurd! Therapists are already strapped working through a pandemic. How is this possibly the time to raise costs by almost $20/month. This is ridiculous.

    We changed our subscription pricing in February, I can certainly explain why we made the changes we did. Over the years, we’ve added many innovative features to the Professional Plan like Secure MessagingAdministrative NotesOnline Booking, the Booking Widget, and more recently we’ve added features like Enhanced Client Management for MinorsAccount ActivityHIPAA Audit Logs, and the ability for clients to upload documents

    As for sunsetting the annual plan, we've added services like insurance packages and Telehealth  that're billed monthly. Therefore, we've made the decision to simplify billing so everything is contained on a monthly bill with transparent pricing. We plan to offer the full flexibility customers expect from us not only for managing their practices, but also for managing their subscriptions.

    Because of these and other innovations, we knew it was time to evaluate the value of SimplePractice. The last change to our subscription prices was in 2015, and we wanted to make sure that we made a thoughtful decision - that’s why our Professional Plan is only changing by $10 and our Essential Plan is remaining the same price.

    We hope you understand that this isn't a decision we made lightly, but one we made to be able to continue improving our platform in ways that would add values to you, our customers.
