Multiple Disciplines- Session note
AnsweredWe have multiple disciples seeing the same client (OT and Speech). Each has completed a treatment plan with Dx. code. When speech attempts to enter their session note, the OT Dx. code and treatment plan are listed, likely because they are the most recent. Is there any way that she can choose to see the speech one?

Hi Nicole, with multidisciplinary group practices, we recommend creating two individual client files for a client who is seeing two different clinicians for two different disciplines. You'll want to make sure you have a different email address for each client file you create for these kinds of clients. You can also use an email modifier for many email providers to distinguish the same email address within our system. For example, adding a + sign and any letter(s) or number(s) after the handle of the email and before the @gmail.com will make the email address different in our system. If my email is ruth@gmail.com, ruth+1@gmail.com, ruth+sldkfjal@gmail.com and ruth+12ab@gmail.com will all go to the same inbox, but will be recognized as different emails in the SimplePractice system.

We are having to switch from simple practice. We serve tricare patients mainly and we can only have one active authorization on file so the other one doesn't get tracked...not working for us. We have families that we serve, I can't imagine asking that mother to have 6 profiles for her 3 kids :(

Hi everyone,
I wanted to provide an update on this workflow that was first added to this post. Instead of needing to create separate profiles for a client, you can add the profiles as contacts. With this workflow you can add the first profile as a Contact to the other discipline’s profile so they can get the Client Portal access with the same email
To do this:
- Navigate to the client’s second Overview page
- Click Edit
- Then, click the Contacts tab
- Select + Add Contact to add a new contact
- Search by the client’s name to select the client’s first profile
- Click on the client’s first profile
- Select a Relationship type
- Click Save
Here is a helpful Help Center guide with some more information on this: https://support.simplepractice.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019735192-Sharing-clients
