Hi Saul, happy to help here! No they won't. Any secure message sent between you and a parent, or you and the child client, will not be accessible by the other. Furthermore, any documents sent to one person won't be accessible by the other person, even if they both are attached to, or have Client Portal access to the same client file. If you've enabled Billing Documents to be accessible to both the parent and the child, then they'll see the same billing documents for the child client's billed services. Other than that, messages and forms are sent to specific recipients, not to everyone who has Client Portal access for a client file. Hope that clarifies it!

Hello! I have a follow-up question about this. I frequently upload photos of documents that clients create in session, but have stopped because I am concerned that parents can see these docs. If I attach them to the note, are they accessible to either the client or their contacts?

Hi Jennifer, documents you upload for the client aren't visible to them, or their Contacts, in the Client Portal. They're only accessible on your end, when logged into your SimplePractice account. If you decide to Share any uploaded documents, then you can select a recipient, from the client and all Contacts with Client Portal access, and it will only appear in that person's Client Portal.
