Couples assessment
AnsweredHello! I am new to this platform and have a question about couples as the unit of treatment. For individuals, I usually do the biopsychosocial assessment but am unsure of which assessment to use for a couple. I see that the tx plan is linked to only one of the client's in the couple but I am wondering if I am supposed to complete the biopsychosocial for only one of the clients? Any thoughts and guidance is welcomed. Thank you!!

Hi Stephanie, the reason why Treatment Plans are connected to one person in the Couple Client Profile, is because Treatment Plans are connected to Diagnoses and you can only add a diagnosis to one person. The Diagnosis will apply to the client responsible for billing so this client's diagnosis will appear on claims and Superbills, if you bill insurance. You can choose to add two different Biopsychosocial Assessment for each client, or you can combine your assessment for both members of the couple onto one form. That's up to you!
