Billing/Invoices; Practice Management
AnsweredI am a clinician at a small counseling center. My supervisor (the executive director) is interested in transitioning the practice to a program management software like SP. I am in the 30-day trial getting familiar with SP to see if it will meet our agency's needs. So far, it seems like it will. We only need it now however for the client portal, scheduling, paperless intake and documentation, and secure messaging. We do not need to use the billing feature. Is there a way to disable the billing feature (I understand the price for the group professional plan won't change)? If we are unable to disable invoices, is there any way to show that they are paid if we use another software for billing, invoicing, and payments?
Also, I am right now, the account owner, which means I have administrative access. Under practice management in settings, for personal info, I put my information. Then under clinical information, I put my information also. It is not my practice however, it is my supervisor's. Does this matter? I don't want it to appear that I am managing my own practice, I am just helping my supervisor with program management software transition options.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help!

Hi Maia, welcome to SimplePractice! We're so glad you're poking around and finding the platform useful for your practice's needs! At this time, there's no way to disable billing altogether. We'd recommend keeping invoicing at daily automations, but you you can manually add payments to each invoice, or to your clients' files. By adding a Manual Credit Card, Check, or Cash payment for the clients' Balance, then you won't be charging their actual credit cards, but will be accounting for payments made outside of SimplePractice. As far as various permissions go, I'd recommend talking to one of our very knowledgeable Group Practice Specialists by submitting an email Help Request. They'll be able to answer all your questions about getting started as a Group Practice in SimplePractice!
