Simple Practice needs better quality A/R Reports
AnsweredAfter reviewing the Outstanding Balance reports, it is clear that this report requires SimplePractice to release new features in calculating how much is owed. This is something we continue to spend hours figuring out and this has not been a "simple" process for us. This is absolutely a business imperative for group practices and has been our #1 problem for scaling our practice. We have been losing money monthly and having to spend hours of time pulling from different reports which are not as accurate without combing through 200 records which has weekly billing transactions tied to the client records. The dates of services are incorrect and are no longer showing on the reports as once did last week. The date of service issue was previously posted by a user in the community board but never fixed. Why? The purpose of housing data is to be able to pull it out and have analytics for best practices.
All EHR systems have the capability of pulling a simple A/R report where clinicians do not need to spend hours of time fixing manually. If any feature needs to be enhanced, this is where your clients will need it the most or we will have to look elsewhere for a solution. Please fix as soon as possible.

Hi Arlene, thank you for sharing your insight on how to make our income reports better. We're always looking to customers for ways to improve our platform. To generate a report that lists your clients' dates of service, how much was billed, paid and unpaid, by both client and their insurance payer, you can go to Reports > Appointment Status Report. You can check the box to "Include Insurance," sort by payment status and adjust the date range as needed. If this report still doesn't have all the information you'd like to see, please add your comments and upvote this feature request on our Ideas and Suggestions Board: https://simplepractice.uservoice.com/forums/918553-simplepractice-feedback/suggestions/41686174-hire-an-accountant-who-is-an-expert-in-medical-bil

Ruth, will the report you mentioned supply the information that Arlene needs? Sort of. I believe the intent of her post is Simple Practice is badly in need of additional A/R and Practice reports. What she is needing is a basic A/R report that shows unpaid balances without having to look at paid invoices. How about a simple check box "only show invoices with balances". As others have noted, the information is available, we just need Simple Practice to make the information available. And yes, I have voted on numerous feature requests post about this issue.

Thanks for clarifying, for the purposes you've detailed, it maybe better to use the Reports > Outstanding Balances Report. This report isn't broken down by appointment, but rather by client. You can opt to include insurance information for this report as well. To see all the details of each client's balance, you'll want to download it as a CSV, or Excel spreadsheet. This report might still lack information you'd like to include and we appreciate your feedback. Our Product Team often looks through our Ideas and Suggestions Board to find ways of improving our platform. Thanks for voting and contributing to these feature requests, don't forget to comment with the information you'd like us to include in income reports!
