iPad Pro; How to write cursive in the Psychotherapy Notes section?
AnsweredI am using an iPad Pro to take notes in Simple Practice. However, I would like to have my cursive writing entered into the section. Is is possible to enter the cursive writing directly into the Psychotherapy Note without having it transformed into text?
Thanks!

Hi Dr. Deutsch, if you're using your iPencil to write in your Progress Notes, or Psychotherapy Notes, your writing will automatically be converted to typed text. There's no way to have your cursive handwriting remain in tact, but you can add a PDF attachment of your handwritten notes to your Progress Note. However, this PDF document will be part of the general Progress Note, which means it will be part of your client's official medical record. Differently from Progress Notes, Psychotherapy Notes aren't part of the client's official medical record and don't have to be disclosed unless you're court ordered to do so.

Thanks for this thread! Just confirming that it is in fact possible to use the Apple Pencil on iPad to write directly into a progress note? -Rather than writing in another app such as notes and then having to paste it afterwards. Seems like this is a relatively new function? Thanks!

Hi Danielle, that's right! If you've updated your operating system in your iPad's System Preferences, or Settings, then you should be able to use the Apple Pencil to write directly in the SimplePractice text boxes. This was a relatively new Apple operating system update, it came out this year.

I am wondering the same thing. I have everything updated on my ipad and my apple pencil is charged and working, and I cannot get it to write directly onto my ipad through the app or through the site from safari. Very frustrating. If there is a video or a step-by-step direction tutorial, that would be very helpful.
