Deciding to use Simple Practice as I migrate from solo to group practice
AnsweredI'm new to Simple Practice and also I'm in the process of hiring therapists (Independent Contractors) who will work for me. My practice is 100% private-pay...no insurance filing. Those of you with experience using Simple Practice in a group practice, what other platforms did you consider and how did you decide on Simple Practice? What are the best features and what are some of the gaps in functionality you've been experiencing?

Group practice of 6 therapists. We looked at all the major competition - Therapy notes, Theranest, etc. We chose SP because it was simple, didn't try to force you into doing treatment plans, specific notes, etc. Overall we're happy, but hoping it will improve. No software is going to give you everything you want. Keep in mind SP was designed as a solo practice platform that has been adjusted to enable group practice. Calendar, scheduling work perfect. Client intake forms work well and have a fair amount of flexibility. Reports are limited especially for a group - this is probably the biggest need for improvement. Stripe as a credit card processor works well - others complain about the higher costs, but you're paying for the convenience. Invoicing, billing etc work well. Keep in mind this is not a financial program. You still need financial software such a Quickbooks, but I believe this would be the case for any of the competition.
