How to delete clients and sessions on unbilled appointments/submit claims page?
Hello there;
It is overwhelming the list of clients and unbilled sessions that appears on that page. My page has clients that are not even active and those that are listed there but I was using another clearinghouse while waiting for final set-up with simple practice. It took a while until I was able to only use the simple practice to bill the insurance companies.
Is it possible to set this page in the way that I only have active clients Or only have 2021 sessions? The other problem is that the page defaults to include all sessions and clients and unless I remember to clear that, I end up submitting claims which were already submitted by the other clearing house.
Can you help?
Thanks

I had the same issue. They addressed how to delete clients in this other thread: https://support.simplepractice.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360077408011-Delete-a-client

Sadly, the only thing you can do is delete the entire appointment or it will keep repopulating under the claims page. Because the person is listed as insurance, if you try to not create a claim it won't let you unless you delete the entire appointment. SP really needs to fix this. I am transitioning from having had someone billing to doing it myself and it has been a time consuming mess for this reason.

I know this isn't exactly everyone's problem, and I'm unsure if people still have this issue. But I was having problems getting people off of the 'unbilled' list even after manually entering the insurance payment. I did not want to create a 'prepared' claim and leave it on that page because I didn't want to accidentally submit it for a second time. (We are using someone else to bill) If you create claims to a 'prepared' status and go in and edit the claim itself to show the amount that the insurance company paid and then save, it will update to show paid instead of 'prepared'. It removes the client from the 'unbilled' list and effectively shows them as 'paid' and not 'prepared'. I hope this helps!

I am reading Brittany Tuttle's response from 2 years ago, and I am now wondering if Simple Practice has made any changes to the software to make it easier to "zero out" clients' billing history for those occasions when the practitioner needs to have all the billing begin anew. (I am beginning to take on my own billing, within Simple Practice, rather than using SP simply as a scheduling/documentation vehicle, and need billing records to be cleared).

Here is what I found. Scroll down to removing appointments from the Unbilled appointments list. https://support.simplepractice.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006613972-Creating-batch-claims

I have an issue where the system is telling my that I have $685 in unbilled insurance, yet when I go to the unbilled appointments tab and expand the date search back over several years, absolutely nothing comes up in the search. Where are these unbilled insurances? This number seems to have just appeared out of thin air recently. It has not been there prior.

Andrea,
This is what I do when the claim isn't showing as paid even though it has been. (Whether it's from an outside source, or simple practice.) Go to insurance, then claims, click 'view' on the claim in question, and then click edit at the top of the page. Scroll down to the bottom of the claim. You can enter in the amount that was paid by insurance directly onto the claim. Once you do, click save. Next, I click on the client's name at the top of the page, which takes you to the client overview page. Now click 'add insurance payment'. Enter in the date it was paid and the corresponding info at the top, find the appointment/session in question, add the information there, and save it. After refreshing once or twice, it should fix the problem on the insurance page.
If the claim has been paid from an outside source, so the session is showing up on the report list like a claim hasn't even been filed, select the appointment and click 'create claim'. Once you've done that, you can follow the steps I listed above. I hope this is helpful.
