Filing secondary when primary is billed outside of simple practice
AnsweredMedicare is primary and does not accept electronic or any submission for claims for LPC. Therefore, we are unable to produce an EOB. How to we file secondary when we are unable to get the claim through initially?
When filling direct with BCBS as secondary the EOB is not needed. I would like to streamline billing and not have to go through an outside provider software.
I also have a new medicare primary, cigna secondary and assume i will soon run into the same problem?
So- how can I generate a secondary claim when the primary is not submitted through simple practice>

Hi Allison, first, make sure you've entered in the client's primary and secondary insurance information in their client file > Edit > Billing & Insurance. Then create the primary claim through SimplePractice, but don't submit the claim through SimplePractice. Even if you don't get Payment Reports through SimplePractice for this insurance payer, you should still get paper EOBs from them directly in the mail, or on their online portal. You'll want to enter your insurance payments manually in SimplePractice, using the EOB you got from the insurance payer. Here's more on how to Add an Insurance Payment. Next, you'll want click on the claim and hit Create Secondary Claim. Here's more information about Creating and Filing a Secondary Claim through SimplePractice.
