Maybe i'm missing a simple solution to this problem -- hope so! I have a trans patient who has not yet legally changed their name.Their account name reflects their legal name while their "preferred name" reflects their lived identity. I don't bill insurance but issue super bills and cannot change the "make payments to" section of the Superbill to match their legal, check cashing (and account) name, rather than preferred name. Is there another way, besides removing the preferred name and using their dead name to rectify this? if not, this is an issue that really needs to be addressed as it mitigates the benefit of being able to use a preferred name withing the SP system. Billing documents should perhaps match account name rather than preferred name, as many preferred names are nicknames and not used for billing. Thanks in advance for sharing workarounds or solutions.
