So our office has more than one Taxonomy code. And I do understand there currently is no drop down to change this... But, why cant I change it when it makes a CMS1500? I can edit and change Taxonomy but then it willn't let me bill it . PLEASE HELP
I have a similar problem to Juana. My state's medicaid has us bill with different taxonomy codes depending on the diagnoses. For substance use disorders, we're required to have a separate taxonomy code rather than using the one we use for other behavioral health diagnoses. It would be helpful to have a way under each client's billing and insurance info. rather than in my practice info (which allows only one taxonomy code) to enter the correct taxonomy code so that I don't have to remember to manually enter it and make a paper claim each time. There is also another problem with my state's medicaid billing requirements. On line 24H of the claim, we have to enter the number 2. Other billing programs I've used allowed for that also to be entered in the client's billing information section so that I don't have to manually enter it each time on a downloaded claim form. It saves time and potential billing errors. The last problem is that my state's medicaid doesn't allow us to have the name and address of the plan printed in the top margin of the form. That has to remain blank. Therefore, I have to go in each time I am going to bill for a medicaid client and delete the medicaid name and address so that the form prints without anything in the margin. I don't know what other state's medicaid billing requirements are, bur I would think these could be simple programming changes to make. It would save a great deal of time and decrease billing errors if the suggested changes were instituted. I would also be able to then bill electronically for medicaid. Thank you.
