SimplePractice Alternatives (Price War 2022)
I have come to really enjoy using SP as a solo provider. So much, that I have supervisees that I have recommended and require to use as well as their supervisor (who are also in solo practice). After reading numerous posts and complaints about the upcoming price change in 2022, it is apparent that SP has not sided with consumers of their product and more so the greed of business. Had SP completed a multifaceted study amongst clinicians using their products, they would have obviously discovered that their structuring of services offered in their new tiers are incompatible with the needs of current subscribers.
As I believe that SP has the best platform for psychotherapists in private practice, I am not sure that switching to alternative platforms are justifiable. In comparing TheraNest, TherapyNotes, and SP... where you want to gain, you loose in others (regarding needed elements). Although at this time, it appears that switching to one of the alternatives above will still be cheaper than the $99 option poised by SP.
I truly hope that SP is monitoring these feeds. I really hope that SP will evaluate the legitimate complaints and concerns of us practitioners and re-evaluate their changes in pricing in March. Unfortunately, as a sole practice provider, I like many others (assumption) will be forced to move to an alternative platform come March because as all practitioners know, we are underpaid, over taxed, and struggle with insurance panels already. Saving $50 a month might not seem like much to most, but to me and my family... it is!

Yes, I would agree. Have started the process of looking into other platforms. So far love what SP offers for my needs but probably wont continue to endorse. We pay for a lot of stuff that we really don't need. For us the Essential is the best except for not allowing for one admin/biller account so basically have to do the Plus just for that. Its disappointing that you could not have included 1 admin/biller acct with the essential. As it is the admin/biller has very very very limited access, its not like they have clinical privileges.
