Higher prices and losing features.
AnsweredSince SimplePractice has closed comments on other posts I suppose I will create my own. SP it is not right for you to make these changes to existing customers. I already have the Professional plan and have one staff member profile. You are essentially forcing your existing providers/practices into the Plus plan ($99) or to lose services which were the basis of our decision to choose your platform. Practices who choose not to upgrade will now have to find another platform, redo all of their forms and learn a whole new system and get clients accustomed to the new system as well. I for one do not appreciate you strong arming your existing customers with this bait and switch situation. I will have to pay $40 more just so my receptionist will continue having access to schedule appts. Listen to all of the negative feedback you all have received regarding taking away features. You are going to lose many existing customers.

I am also leaving SimplePractice! This is some shady stuff. I'd be paying almost double what I pay now just to keep some features ALL WHILE LOSING OTHERS. It's terrible. It kinda feels like SimplePractice is strong-arming a bunch of mental health professionals into paying more... giving us a 2 month warning. They do this knowing most mental health professionals are overworked and won't have the time or energy to look into other options. It's horrible.

Exactly. We just signed up after months of researching different features in different programs, and now they are effectively charging us 60% more than before. Just the fact that you have to have to $100 plan to be able to add practitioners (another $60 each) is very unprofessional strong-arming that will probably drive me and others away.

I'm with ya. It takes a great deal of work to get set up on an EHR, customize our forms, and helping our clients get comfortable with the system we use. Even if they respond to my email thread with them with some miraculous answer of letting us customize our packages, I no longer trust SimplePractice not to do something like this again in the future.
I'm researching other EHRs and see one that has a guarantee of no rate increases (you're locked in at the rate you started at!). Others haven't increased their rates in 7-10 years. And those who say in the unlikely event that they ever increase their rates, they'll give every subscriber ONE YEAR notice which seems way more appropriate than the 2 months given to us by SimplePractice. 2022 is full of surprises... :(
