No calendar sync - Starter plan is now the best choice for many of us
AnsweredNow that Simplepractice has removed calendar sync from its "Essential" plan, the best choice for me is the Starter Plan. Which is great, because it costs much less than what I'm currently paying. The same may be true for you if:
1) You're a solo psychotherapy practitioner
2) You're not billing insurance companies directly
3) You can live without SimplePractice's less "essential" features such as website hosting
4) You can migrate to another telehealth platform (and why not? Virtually all of them are cheaper and some work just as well)
Without calendar sync, many of SP's very useful "Essential" features (telehealth, appointment reminders) become so much harder to manage that it's effectively useless for those purposes. And paying for the "Plus" plan just to get calendar syncing leaves me feeling resentful, which (as we psychotherapists know) is a bad way to do business. So it turns out the best choice for me is to go with the lowest-level Starter plan, since SP does remain a good billing platform at that level.
If SP restores calendar sync then it'll be easy to choose the "Essential" plan for the convenience of having so many features in one place. But for now it makes no sense for many of us to choose it.

Hi Deepa,
We hear you and acknowledge all of the points made on this post and the other posts in regards to pricing on our forum. We're still carefully reviewing all the comments made on the forum, the feature requests related to the pricing change, and the one-on-one conversations customers have had with our Customer Success Team. At this time, we don't have anything new to report as there will be no changes made to the plans, including calendar sync. But we promise to update this post and all our customers, if we decide to make changes to our new pricing structure.
